Three directions of our project
Over the past week, our program has made significant progress in addressing challenges and exploring exciting avenues. We focused on three main directions, each of which presents unique opportunities and obstacles:
Direction 1: Large Language Models (LLMs)
Problems: We studied the LLM domain, emphasizing the user-friendliness and ease of learning aspects. Alice was difficult to debug because it lacked guidance for new users. So we wanted to optimize its user experience with the help of AI. We will draw inspiration from exemplary LLMs such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, and Bard to improve Alice’s user experience.
Challenge: It is critical that LLM is configured correctly, as incorrect settings can lead to inaccurate results. In addition, some users may experience integration difficulties in specific use cases, so it is important to focus on seamless integration.
Direction 2: Generating Assets using AI
Problems: We explored the fascinating world of asset generation using AI, spanning 2D images, 3D models, and even music. This direction promises to enhance the creative capabilities of our project significantly.
Challenges: Challenges include the resource-intensive nature of training AI models, the need to match file formats when integrating AI-generated assets into Alice, and educating users to craft effective prompts for asset generation.
Direction 3: Animation Assistance in Alice
Problem: Because of the repetitive and time-consuming animations in Alice, this can be a turn-off for users. To solve this problem, we hope that AI tool will help make the animation setup easier for users.
Challenges: Challenges include the heavy pre-code workload required for animation, limitations in using open-source solutions for AI training, and the need for advancements in AI to facilitate smoother animation processes within Alice.
We plan to decide on a direction for development after the 1/4 presentation while discussing with other experts in the AI field. And prototype the program and UI direction next week.
