Production
In the first week, we met with our old and new instructors, as well as our team members, and decided on the team name “Beyond Beyond Touch.” Since we are continuing our project from last semester, we reviewed our goal: to create a social gameplay experience using data collected from the Apple Watch, enabling players to interact with the device beyond simple touch. Last semester, we developed a truth-or-lie bluffing game, where players engage in conversation while real-time heart rate data adds another layer of immersion to the experience.
This week, after discussions and a brown-boxing activity, our team finalized this semester’s goal: to publish a social game suite. The suite will include our existing bluffing game, a new prototype called the “barking game,” designed to encourage physical movement, and potentially a third game that combines both talking and movement. Throughout the semester, we’ll work on developing this third game as a bonus addition. Based on our established milestones, we will refine the bluffing game into a robust final version and publish it on the App Store for public release.
Programming
We welcomed Shi-hung and Tony to the team while bidding farewell to Jerry and Hazel. Our group also facilitated a handover between the programmers, reviewing the existing codebase and understanding the game logic to continue building on the current foundation. We truly appreciate the time and effort our previous programmers invested in the project.
Next week, we will begin identifying existing issues in the bluffing game and start refining it.
