For one, we set ourselves a deadline for Thursday to have a new playtest ready, this time testing Defender and Glass decks to see if they’re fun enough to become mainstay mechanics. That meant new art assets to represent these keywords, as well as implementing them programmatically as well as balancing them.

We also met with Justin Cincolo at Board, their VP of games, to see about the possibility of a client project next semester. That meeting went well, we were able to secure a monthly meeting with them for the rest of the year to share our progress. It was great to hear some of the concerns they had so we could start to plan how to address them.

Getting the playtest ready didn’t quite happen in time due to some challenges implementing cards and unforeseen bugs, but we plan to have it done early the following week. From there, we can start playtesting in earnest, and make balance and mechanical changes from there.

We are also moving forward with using PVC cards with the glyphs printed on the back, which is working very reliably! This is our first time using flat yet sturdy cards, and they appear to have a 90%+ accuracy rate.

From here, we plan to finish the current test, begin playtesting, and allow the programmers to clean the code up significantly before halves in a few weeks.

9/20-9/26 This was a big week for the team for a few reasons.
