This week we are shifting from using the audio modulation tools in Unreal to industry level audio middleware. The major plan for this week is to quickly learn about what Wwise is capable of doing and try to integrate it with Unreal as fast as possible.
Wwise has comprehensive series of tutorials that can be accessed on the official website, which provides a convenient way of learning this tool. We plan to spend the first half of this week learning about how Wwise and the Unreal integration work, so that we can have time for remaking the previous demo through Wwise to validate its usability.
While learning the new tool, we start to build more enemy AI features on top of what we have. Our plan is to add a range attack behavior to the boss so that corresponding music can be add to it to test out more about transferring music dynamically.
New AI states and animations added:
Second half of the week, we need to work on putting everything together by recreating the similar music transition demo we did last week through Wwise and Ureal.
Adding events and other Wwise assets to Unreal:
Next week, we will continue to build the project based on the last iteration of the demo. We will be working on new enemy behaviors and the corresponding music tracks.
