WEEK 7

Half Presentation

This week we had our half presentation. During the presentation, we introduced our team member, the Brick-By-Brick Programme, current development progress, UX design, test results, and iteration plan. Regarding our presentation, the feedback from ETC faculty has been positive. Professor Jonathan Walton raised a question about how we can differentiate this experience from the Brick-By-Brick Programme. In fact, regarding this question, we have already mentioned and planned for this before. We plan to use AR technology to combine the virtual and physical LEGO at the end of the experience, finally showcasing a “reward moment” where both virtual and physical LEGO are combined together as one scene. This scene will be animated and interactive.

Project Showcase to Dr. Gina’s Team

This Friday, Dr. Gina, the founder of Play Included and the Brick-By-Brick Programme, came to Pittsburgh for a visit from Oxford, UK. We were going to take this opportunity to showcase the project Hybricks to Dr. Gina’s team. We invited them to the ETC’s Brick Club Room and experienced the game process based on our initial design, and asked for their opinions as the founders of this LEGO-based gameplay. They were enjoying the experience and were surprised that we made the Brick-By-Brick Programme so immersive virtually. Dr. Gina believed that our gameplay highly delivered the Brick-By-Brick Programme’s experience and philosophy, and they are looking forward to our future shipment. John Balash also introduced the plans of ETC K12 and the project Hybrick to Gina’s team. This is a very successful showcase with the founders of our project’s initial reference.
