Storyboards & Camera
Sharon has been working on the narrative and storyboards for the four perspective animation based on the mood board this week, and Dennis was placing the camera in Unreal Engine based on the storyboards. Draft storyboards of the international student perspective and ADHD student perspective has been finished. Sharon and Dennis had a meeting with our project instructor John to discuss about the storyboards. Based on a more complete context, dialogues and suggestions given by instructor, the storyboards will be revised next week.

Shader
Frida focused on creating the outline and cel shaders. She explored two different approaches for the outline shader, but the results were not as expected. Additionally, she experimented with 1-layer, 4-layer, and multilayer cel shaders based on parameters. She also learned how to write post-processing shaders that apply effects to specific game objects.

We finished drawing our logo and posters!

Character & Mocap
As we have decided to model and rig our own characters, we had a better idea of the skeleton hierarchy that we will be retargeting our mocap data to. Therefore, we downloaded another free character model online, it has a more complicated rigging, and it is more aligned with the skeleton that will be on our own characters. This experience of retargeting mocap data on a more complicated rig has further deepen our knowledge in the mocap pipeline, as some issues that did not appear on a simple character model(Week 2) has appear on this character.
