This week, our artist Christine worked very hard to tweak the details for the animation. We did not rig the model ourselves and the exported animation from Unity has a lot of problems. Due to these reasons, there was only so much Christine could do to fix the animation. We recognize that it’s far from perfect. However, it was still exciting to see the 3D character Christine worked on for this whole semester moving in the scene.
We also made some design changes after playtesting. We decided to remove the watch me part in the tutorial. For a lot of the playtesters, having to watch, follow, then watch again breaks the flow of the dance. Instead, we show the whole dance in the beginning of the experience to give people a better idea about what they are getting into. Then, we slow down the follow me and provide voiceover for guidance.
Next week is our final week to make some small adjustments to the experience. We have created a new task list to spend our time well. We will also be preparing for the final presentation, creating a trailer for the project and doing documentations.
