Danceology utilizes Machine Learning to help people who are unfamiliar with modern dance develop an appreciation of the art form by doing a guided version of Paul Taylor's iconic Back Exercise in the comfort of their own homes. Paul Taylor\u2019s movement style is recognizable because of the use of the spine as the impetus for the movements of the limbs. He created the Back Exercise to help address this concept. Supported by the Paul Taylor Dance Company\u2019s extensive knowledge and historical context of modern dance, we aim to construct an experience that enables non-dancers to comprehend the invisible energy and forces from the spine at critical moments in the Back Exercise. Using 3D environment design and visual effects, we can actualize the imagery of moving through water in the dancer's mind to aid our target audience in understanding this unique piece.
