The ETC was quieter than usual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our team had two parallel goals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Finalize our deliverables\u2014the demo video, documentation, and promo video.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare for the final presentation \u2014 write and memorize a script, design clear and compelling slides, and rehearse our 15-minute talk.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>End-of-semester tasks were also due. Each of us will complete a self-assessment and contribute to the project\u2019s post-mortem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>During rehearsal, our faculty advisor, John Dessler, asked: Do you think you\u2019ve succeeded this semester?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Christina and Grace immediately and simultaneously answered \u2014 but with different responses. Christina said, \u201cSort of.\u201d Grace said, \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Neither answer was wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSort of\u201d reflects an honest recognition: we had meaningful successes, frustrating failures, and lingering questions about what this semester was meant to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYes\u201d carries pride, self-affirmation, and a quiet refusal to call the experience a failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the question had been, &#8220;Did you do your best?&#8221; The answer might have been unanimously a &#8220;Yes.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Given who we were at the time \u2014 our abilities, our knowledge, and the team we had \u2014 we stayed engaged and kept pushing things forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, all you can do is show up, solve problems, and care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>April 20-24, 2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This was the final week before our presentation.
