We have our second playtest at the Children’s museum this Friday. We want to make sure we have working prototypes of all the games to ensure we can get as much feedback as possible.

Client Meeting with Ian

We have working prototypes for all of the games!

Ian was excited by all of the ideas and especially loved that we intend to give over a rocket model for them to print in the WonderLab. He was also really excited that we have chosen to create information sheets to accompany the experience, consistent with the other activities in the wonderlab.

Children’s Museum Playtest

Unfortunately, the playtest at the Children’s museum didn’t go well. Once again, we had issues with the stability of the hands. It was incredibly difficult for guests to grab onto anything. This was especially difficult because the majority of the kids who played were very young – around 4 or 5 years old. Even the few older kids that we got to play were unable to complete the game because their hand tracking would get in the way – even if they understood the solution they were unable to complete the experience.

Our top priority will be to improve the hand tracking and reduce any jitteriness that prevents people from selecting things.

Priorities For Next Week:

Programming:

  • IMPROVE HAND STABILITY
  • Continue to work on finalizing interactions for the minigames

Art:

  • Start  working on final assets
