Playtesting

We held a playtest with Jessica Hammer’s daughter and her father, which was possibly our most successful test yet! She loved the experience, and talked through her thought process out loud so it was great to see what information helped her and what didn’t. She particularly loved Won’s Circuits. She played all of the games multiple times.

Afterwards, we spoke with Eline Fath from the center for transformational play and she gave great feedback about the experience. She immediately noticed the similarities between this and the precious ETC project at the Children’s Museum and had a lot of fun with the interactions. She felt that the scoring at the end needed to feel stronger. She didn’t really understand how the activities she did were resulting in the number she received. Other than that, she was impressed!

Final Preparation

As we begin preparing for our final presentation, we’ve reflected a lot on the work we’ve accomplished this semester.  We went through so many iterations to get to the point we’re at now and we’ve been receiving very positive feedback from the recent playtests.

Quality of LIfe Updates

Implemented a settings panel for volunteers

Updated electricity VFX so it is a persistent path that players can use to see where the current is flowing and figure out how to fix it

Rearranged UI to avoid accidental button presses

Finished Rocket Model

A large part of this week was dedicated to finishing our physical rocket. Zach and Cody from Ideate printed the final model and all of the finalized parts have arrived. After a few long nights working with Dave, we are so excited to have our final rocket model completed!
