Playtest Follow Up

Using the feedback that we got from Dave and the insights from the WonderLab playtest, we will focus on completing the entire game flow this week. Guests should be able to start the game, play through each of the minigames including all levels and launch the rocket. We are thinking carefully about how to best accommodate different play styles and physical needs. Ideally, most of the guests will be able to use the motion tracking either by themselves or with the help of a parent. However, we have also included an option to use a game controller which the WonderLab volunteers can check out to guests who need it.

We divided our remaining work into two sections: high priority items that need to be completed before softs and lower priority items which can be added/completed after softs. The primary focus for this week will be software/gameplay elements. Following softs, we will tweak the hardware and motion-tracking along with the main feedback we get from softs.

Priorities For Next Week:

  • Design
    • Reduce dialogue and improve clarity
  • Programming
    • Finish implementing additional levels and increasing difficulty in all three minigames
    • Create rocket launch sequence
    • Implement necessary sound effects
  • Art
    • Create multiple rocket models
    • Create backgrounds
