Overview<\/strong><\/h3>

This week was Softs, and we\u2019ve been busy wrapping up many parts of the experience in preparation for load-in, which officially began over the weekend.<\/p>

Softs & Feedback<\/strong><\/h3>

During Softs, we ran into a few technical issues. The luggage station speakers weren\u2019t working properly at first. Luckily, we were able to fix the issue<\/strong> shortly after this week. Overall, the feedback was very positive\u2014many people loved the props<\/strong> and appreciated the attention to historical and aesthetic detail, which felt immersive and thoughtful.<\/p>

Visual & Set Progress<\/strong><\/h3>

Our fabric <\/strong>arrived just in time, and we tested the projection on them in the project room: the effect turned out better than expected. We’re now figuring out how to secure the projector to the trunk<\/strong> in a way that\u2019s stable and visually discreet.<\/p>

To add realism, we aged the paper props<\/strong> using tea and hand-painted the room signs<\/strong> for both the Telegram Room and the Marconi Room. We also painted the wooden crates<\/strong> to look older and more cohesive with the historical environment.<\/p>

Telegram Station Updates<\/strong><\/h3>

We added LED feedback<\/strong> to the telegram box, allowing players to control lights with the physical switches. The red and green indicators<\/strong> added to the tapper make it easier to understand when the system is recording or sending messages.<\/p>

We continued refining the 3D-printed earpiece<\/strong>, which had some fit issues earlier. After several iterations, we sanded and spray-painted the model<\/strong> to improve the finish and make it feel more polished and believable in the context of the installation.<\/p>

Lighting & Hardware Integration<\/strong><\/h3>

The electric module and LED strip<\/strong> were installed inside the suitcase and re-timed to align with the audio playback.\u00a0<\/p>

Load-in Begins<\/strong><\/h3>

On Friday night, we transported most of our materials to Purnell using a Drama department truck and stored them in the basement. On Saturday, we started setting up the fabric panels on the second floor<\/strong>, using grommets and braided cord<\/strong> to secure them to the railing.<\/p>
