{"id":1806,"date":"2022-10-29T19:23:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-29T19:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/projects.etc.cmu.edu\/games-for-all\/?p=1806"},"modified":"2022-11-14T18:51:36","modified_gmt":"2022-11-14T18:51:36","slug":"week-8-dev-blog-playtest-with-disabled-players","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/projects.etc.cmu.edu\/games-for-all\/week-8-dev-blog-playtest-with-disabled-players\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 8 Dev Blog \u2013 Playtest with Disabled Players"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2>Summary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Playtested and interviewed Jen and Mike, gained valuable insights about how people with upper body disabilities play games;<\/li><li>Finished the FPS game level design and implementation in Unity;<\/li><li>Implemented the dynamic difficulty system, including 10 difficulty levels and their detailed parameters;<\/li><li>Attended <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gaconf.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">GAConf<\/a> (Game Accessibility Conference) as a team and participated in the talks;<\/li><li>Attended <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmu.edu\/etc\/cmuplaytesting\/events\/etc-playtest-day.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ETC Playtest Day<\/a> and playtest with CMU students and the local community.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>Design<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We continued to develop our accessible FPS game, adding 2 more places of interest (3 in total) for players to shoot in level design. Almost all playtesters felt the game is satisfying hard, and not too frustrating. Moreover, we found some issues that we need to fix to improve our prototype.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Art<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We continued to create more 3D assets to enrich the environment in the game.
