As we head into the final stretch, Week 13 was all about polishing our work, tightening documentation, and preparing for final presentations<\/strong>. Every team member focused on refining details\u2014whether in the tool itself, supporting materials, or how we tell the story of what we\u2019ve built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Documentation and Clarity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Eva focused on creating comprehensive documentation<\/strong> to clearly explain how the tool works, its educational purpose, and how teachers or future developers can engage with it. Visuals are being finalized to ensure the guide is both informative and accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technical Improvements and UI Updates<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Jinyi tackled critical bug fixes<\/strong> and enhanced Lua code execution by making all methods asynchronous, ensuring smoother and more predictable behavior. New methods like Delay<\/strong>, DestroyVFX<\/strong>, and ChangeCharacterSize<\/strong> were implemented to expand creative possibilities. The codeblock UI<\/strong> was also updated, allowing draggable value input fields for better user interaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wendy continued iterating on both the Spell Book<\/strong> and Spell Link UI<\/strong>. The goal is to make sure players understand not just what<\/em> they can do, but how<\/em> and why<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visual Effects and Aesthetic Polish<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Zhanqi contributed three new visual effects<\/strong>, adding more flair and feedback to player actions, making the overall experience feel more dynamic and engaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final Video Production<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Jia focused on preparing the final presentation video<\/strong>, balancing narrative flow with gameplay footage. Two approaches are in progress: showcasing real playtest moments with kids, and crafting a sample story using the tool itself. Music selection and editing are underway to ensure the video captures both the functionality and the spirit of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking Ahead<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Next week, the team are conducing our final playtest at a local school to evaluate our success! We are planning for the students to follow our instructions and see what kind of story they’ll be able to create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Week 13 was to bringing everything together\u2014refining features, enhancing clarity, and preparing to showcase. The finish line is in sight!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
