Week 6 [Spring 3.0!] – February 21st, 2025

With continued refining the experience design, this week the team also started putting together assets and related content for next week’s half presentation. We met with faculty and industrial XR developers, playtesting with our XR experience and received feedback suggestions. One of the explorations we want to test is enabling multiple room AR games, scanning and connecting rooms together, creating a bigger playground for more possibilities in a collective physical space.  

Design meeting

  • Steps: what happen if you miss the steps
  • Word puzzles: challenge to do: make it photorealistic 
  • Virtual & physical combination: example – coffee cup: a virtual coffee stain on the physical cup 

We also tried an experiment of an illusion test this week with this cylinder. We created a creature that feels like it has breath. When the playtesters were holding the physical cylinder and pet on it, for a fair amount of time, some of them did have a feeling of petting a little creature. We could utilize some of the illusion ideas/ tricks to create some interactions.

Sprint 3

  • cracks on wall – see the inside world and creatures running out through the cracks ( flashlight need to lighten up to see the creatures)
  • Words / Models transformation
  • Waterball tracks player’s hand
  • Pull up/ drawer from the floor + simple interactions
  • Open up the crack and look into the other world
