Week 12
Like flowers that bloom in unexpected places, every story unfolds with beauty and resilience, revealing hidden wonders.
Key event
This week we have been working towards the Soft Opening day and also reviewing the feedback we’ve received from the playtest day. We are also gathering feedback to help us to prepare for the soft opening day.

Overall weekly progress
Specifically, Selena was able to edit a credit list video with behind the scenes included. Samantha and Jose are working on fine editing sound and color grading of the Nova and Julian path. Lucy is finalizing the junkyard scene and working on VFX. Felix is working on cutting the scene and exporting to Grace while Grace is debugging and testing the interactivity scenes with the on boarding scene for both Julian and Nova path. Grace is also able to implement a database to detect where the viewer’s eyes position were during their experience. We also held our soft opening on Wednesday and afterwards decided on our future plans.

Progress
PRODUCTION
We held our soft opening on Wednesday. In order to prepare it, Selena and Lucy created Nova instruction manuals with a letter from Nova as a merch for the audience. We also scheduled Maya for ADR session.
EDITING
Selena was able to edit a credit list video with behind the scenes included. Samantha set up a master premiere doc and imported working files from both Jose and Felix’s computer. She also troubleshooted and found sync issue (timecode was changed after picture lock) now sound is synced. Felix and Jose completed editing for interactivity part for Soft opening while Jose brightness adjusted on darker scenes after Softs feedback.
SOUND
Samantha got a response from Kristian Tchetchko (he is willing to meet over zoom) and sent him the current sound mix and told him about the issue with only having one track. Will wait for his advice on what can be done to salvage sound.
TECH
Grace was focusing on bug fixes before Softs. She consulted Thomas Corbett and implemented how to get the coordinates of the box the user has to look to trigger the interaction in each scene. Also, she made a visual box for the interaction.

- Implemented interaction for scene J_3_C_Split which has a black screen covering Julian’s scene if the user looks at the other half of the Cavern.
- Playtest with Sam to make sure scenes were running smoothly.
- Updated the clips with the new ones edited by Jose and Felix, including adding the clips for Julian’s path with sound.
- Implemented a Database to capture the interactions the user triggered and their session duration.
- Soft’s on Wednesday: presented the immersive film to faculty with the team.
Grace was able to create a user data indicating where they look at and if the interactions were triggered.
