Week 2: Data Collecting & Art Direction

Summary:

This week we connected with a professional Level Designer. Their expertise helped us with a better understanding of the project direction. We created a survey on Level Design tools for data collecting. This will help us prioritize features. We also proposed the primary feature of the plug-in and deliverables.

Design:

We proposed the primary features of the plugin and deliverables. The list includes a player character with necessary animations; a library of interactive objects; a library of architecture; a library of textures; scripting templates; and installation and user documentation.

Art:

We used the art style of Control (2019) and Mirror’s Edge (2009) as references. We have put together a mood board for art inspiration.

Looking Ahead:

We are at the start point of this pipeline, the 1/4 walkaround is next week, and we are excited to receive feedback on the direction of this project. We are also planning to keep connecting with professionals and start building our libraries very soon.
