Good Morning! It’s the time for halves. We are 7 weeks in and spring break is right ahead. Below, you’ll find our presentation and the first glimpse of our demo.
Programming
This week, our programs are working to implement features, including Mana and HP, which aim to encourage players to move around actively throughout the experience. Moreover, throughout the playtest, we realized it’s complicated for players to learn complex hand gestures. As a result, we change the interaction of sending out monsters to toss. Our programmer is currently testing different objects that could be tossed throughout the game, including monster cards and models. We will hold another playtest to determine which works better for our game.
Art
Our artists are working on retopology for the Nooki and kapi’s mode.These models will soon be textured and rigged, ready for animation in the upcoming week.
Game Design
After half-presentation, faculty feedback pointed out that we should explore more possibilities in asymmetric monster abilities. As a result, our team hosted a brainstorm session to come up with ideas for each monster’s unique abilities. Below are the brainstorming notes from the meeting, which outlined our creative process
