Our whole team participated in GDC to learn more about what’s going on in the game industry and make connections. As a team, we participate in talks related to our project, including The future of MR by Jesse Schell. This talk not only expanded our understanding of the current industry of mixed reality, but also offered a visionary perspective on how mixed reality could transform gaming and interactive media in the coming years. Adaptive in-home storytelling, MR people & furniture, physical playgrounds for children, and social telepresence are the four main development areas that will be special for game development in mixed reality.
Our team also demoed the game on the ETC booth, the first time for many of us and a milestone for our academic journey. Presenting our project, we engaged with a diverse audience of developers, industry professionals, and enthusiasts. The feedback was invaluable, offering both validation and direction for future development. Perhaps more importantly, this platform allowed us to showcase our capabilities not just as students, but as emerging professionals ready to contribute to the gaming world. The networking opportunities, the exchange of ideas leave us with a renewed sense of purpose and a clearer vision of the path forward in our careers.
