Welcome to the first blog post of Penguin Action Toolkit by Team Patpat! PAT is a student pitch project, and you can find our pitch deck here.

To summarize, we are trying to create an action game toolkit that provides the users with a well-designed, extensible framework that makes it easy for them to do their own things, while providing some of the built-in features to help the users get started.

During the composition box workshop, we used a large poster sheet to put together our inspirations, experiences and expectations for our project. We received feedback for what kind of features people would like us to include in our toolkit. There were a variety of answers including ‘game feel’, ‘change skin’, ‘skill system’, ‘quirky interaction’, etc. While we appreciate all feedback, it is crucial for us to understand what is important and why, both from our perspective and that of potential users, particularly indie developers, during our decision-making process.
