Schedule This Week

This week, due to the carnival, we have holidays on Thursday and Friday, leaving us with only three working days. Below is the schedule for this week, organized by priority:

  • Playtesting Responses Analysis
  • Game Iteration
  • Research Data Collection Proof-run

Playtesting Results

After organizing the feedback from our playtesting, we compiled a to-do list prioritized based on the input received. These tasks are our focus for the remaining weeks. To the right, you will find our completion status as of this Friday. We’ve managed to address all the essential tasks before the soft opening.

Data Collection Update

We’ve updated the data attributes by incorporating timestamps, allowing our client to know exactly when the data was recorded. Below is an image illustrating the updated data format:

Sample Data

After conducting the research data collection during playtesting, we converted the JSON file into a CSV format and imported it into a Google Sheet, which we then shared with our client. We are prepared to continue iterating on this process based on any additional attributes the client may require.

Sheet View

From the data collected, we were able to conduct some preliminary analyses. The results primarily highlight trends in accuracy and reaction time changes as players engage with the game repeatedly. Here are some of the key diagrams.

Latest Demo

Since our last demonstration, we’ve refined numerous details across the games, so it’s just more effective to simply show the updates through the demo. While Mini Game 1 mostly remains unchanged, significant enhancements have been made to Mini Games 2 and 3.

Key Updates Include:

  • Model Improvements: To address overfitting, we’ve added more noise data and adjusted the detection threshold.
  • Handiness Selection: The option to choose hand preference has been moved to the game selection page, making it more visible and accessible to players during game setup.
  • Enhanced Theme Elements: More cat-themed elements have been incorporated into the letter selection and result pages, enhancing the narrative feel of the game. Intro animations have also been introduced before each game to enrich the storytelling.
  • Gameplay Enhancements: In Mini Game 2, we’ve amplified the cat reactions and introduced a combo pattern to add engagement.
  • UI Improvements for Mini Game 3: The user interface has been simplified and the overall environment polished to enhance visual appeal and usability.
  • General UI Polish: We’ve also made extensive improvements to the UI across all aspects of the games to enhance the user experience.
