This week, we kept polishing and iterating our product.

Playtest:

We have the first playtesting with our faculty consultant Mike. And he did give us much useful feedback

  • For switchgrass, water absorption is not evident visually
  • Rainfall is not showing well
  • Sidewalk water flow is not evident enough

Art and Design:

We kept polishing 2d/3d art based on the tech requirement and feedback from Mike and our client.

For the indoor part, we did those changes

  • Changed card designs (two cards)
  • Water doesn’t rise too much. It only rises slightly
  • The ground part looks a bit more transparent, so you can see the root and water
  • The sidewalk water flow is now changed to how Mike advised

For the on-site part, we keep testing the wooden sign recognition, and have a lot of different styles and layouts…

Tech:

For onsite experience, we warped up the basic game logic this week. For now, when users open the app, they will have full experience with three different sessions and all clickable object interactions. We are still waiting for the object information and images from our clients. Also, we tried several ways to represent the interactive objects in different patterns. Another thing for this week is that we did lots of testing on onsite image recognition. Next week, we will go to the rain garden to have an on-site test for our outdoor experience.

Production:

We started to work on the design doc and now have a layout for that.
