Week 8

Focus of the week:

  • First flowerbox
  • GDC
  • Began assembling
  • More narrative design

This week marked our return from spring break, with some team members already making great progress during the break on building physical components such as the flower boxes and other hardware elements.

It was also GDC week, with half of our team traveling to attend the conference. While part of the team was away, the rest of us stayed on campus and continued pushing the project forward.

At the same time, our long-awaited materials finally arrived. We began assembling key physical components of the installation, including the entrance arch and the garden tables.

In parallel, we continued refining the narrative design and integrating it more closely with the overall experience flow. One key idea that emerged was using a day–night cycle to represent the progression of the experience. Each “day” introduces variations in how interactions respond, reinforcing the idea that no two days are the same in the process of caregiving. This system allows both the emotional tone and gameplay feedback to evolve over time in a subtle but meaningful way.

Further narrative and design decisions will be finalized once the full team is back together.
