    In our final week, we focused on resolving remaining programming and hardware issues and preparing the experience for the final showcase. We are ensuring that interactions, timing, and technical systems were working smoothly and reliably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    On the technical side, we made a final adjustment to the digging interaction. We found that players were still not applying enough force for the accelerometer to reliably detect movement, and sensitivity remained inconsistent. Given the limited time left in the semester, we decided to pivot back to a more reliable solution by attaching a Vive tracker to the digging claw to directly track movement. This allowed us to stabilize the interaction without requiring further extensive testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We also refined the feedback for the pruning shears interaction through several iterations. Initially, the feedback was a swirling leaf particle effect, but it did not clearly communicate what the player was supposed to do. In the second iteration, we introduced a simple 3D sphere that grew slightly when the clippers were activated. While this made the interaction more understandable, it felt visually out of place within the natural garden environment. In the final iteration, we developed a hand-drawn circular UI element that expands when the clippers are used correctly. We also slowed down the leaf particle effect and adjusted the leaf colors to match those of the trimmed hedges. This combination improved both clarity and visual consistency, making the interaction feel more intuitive and better integrated into the overall aesthetic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We also received our printed pamphlets this week. We chose a higher-quality paper so that visitors could take them home as a more polished and lasting takeaway from the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We also recorded our demo video, which serves as a shortened walkthrough of the experience. This video captures the key interactions and emotional arc of the installation, allowing others to understand the project even without being physically present in the space.     In parallel, we began compiling our project documentation. This includes a comprehensive overview of the project, covering areas such as project introduction and goals, software development (including control systems, game programming, system architecture, hardware integration, and technical art), hardware components (flower boxes, pruning shears, digging claw, watering can, and puck holder), as well as experience design, audio design, visual design, research, and playtesting records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
