Final Post
Sad to say that this is going to be our last dev blog since next week is our final week. Itโs been a wonderful experience working with the Roblox education team on this project.
Client Presentation
On Wednesday we present our project to our client Genevieve Johnson from Roblox. Through the presentation, we covered the process of our exploration of educational assessment in Roblox and also share some discovery and playtest results. Overall It went really well and our client said our insights into UI and elements of game design and the whole process are exactly the thing they want to see.
Postmortem and Conclusion
This semester, we have been working on a collaboration with the Roblox Education Team to explore educational assessment methods in the popular online game platform Roblox. Through this project, we have gained valuable insights into how players engage with educational content in a gamified environment. The data from the playtests have shown that players are highly motivated to learn and achieve in-game goals, and are able to transfer the skills and knowledge acquired in the game to real-world knowledge.
Furthermore, the prototypes developed by us have demonstrated the potential of Roblox as a platform for personalized and engaging experiences for educational assessment. By leveraging the game’s interactive and creative features, we were able to design assessments that are both challenging and fun for players.
There are also some challenges we had this semester. At the beginning of the semester, we are not sure about what exactly we should do in this project because it is a big topic that includes so many tasks but we successfully narrow it down to several parts. The other challenge faced during the project was the time constraints of the semester though we finally did it. We look forward to seeing how the documents can help other developers and Roblox Education Team.
