week 10

Playtest

This week, our entire team focused on preparing for Saturday’s playtest. We worked collaboratively to finalize Level 1, ensuring that the core gameplay loop was fully implemented and playable. In this level, players must follow the robot’s prompts and rotate the gears together to restore power and gradually light up the spaceship. The cooperative mechanic is simple but requires coordination, reinforcing the collaborative relationship between the human player and the robot.

On the technical side, we successfully implemented the core interaction system and resolved several synchronization issues. The gear rotation mechanic, robot feedback cues, and environmental response (lighting changes) are now functioning as intended. We also updated the spaceship model to create a more immersive and cohesive environment, improving visual consistency and atmosphere.

During the playtest, we gathered valuable feedback regarding clarity of instructions, pacing, and player understanding of the robot’s role. Observing players interact with the system helped us identify moments of confusion and areas where feedback could be stronger or more intuitive. Overall, this week marked an important milestone: we moved from isolated systems to a playable, testable experience and gained concrete insights that will guide our next iteration.
