week 03

Quarters

During Quarters, feedback focused on clarifying why we need a physical robot rather than a CGI character. We were encouraged to deepen the robot’s identity, stakes, and autonomy, strengthen the AR–physical integration, rethink the necessity of VR, and design safer, non-contact interactions with clearer narrative motivation.

After Quarters, we rethought our direction by focusing on the robot’s unique physical presence rather than treating it as a generic tool. We clarified its narrative stakes, deepened its autonomy, and refined the AR integration. Our goal shifted toward emphasizing embodiment, agency, and meaningful human–robot collaboration.

On the technical side, we continued iterative testing and integration. We set up the Vision Pro and Mac Mini pipeline, refined the Python communication bridge, and developed a simple Unity controller demo. Ongoing work focuses on XR teleoperation and improving real-time synchronization between the digital twin and the physical robot.
