We could use the animals to set up situations involving racial bias, without the issues being immediately and directly addressed.<\/p><p>The faculty (in general) did not feel that the animals would work as intended and cautioned us from moving in that direction. Some faculty liked the idea of the animals but we are definitely looking to do some testing with our audience about what appeals to them.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-415920a elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"415920a\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-8a3b34f\" data-id=\"8a3b34f\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-58af372 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"58af372\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Category 2: Racial vs Gender Bias<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-fa0e57b elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"fa0e57b\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-c915c89\" data-id=\"c915c89\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0e9af67 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0e9af67\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Another sticking point that we were somewhat surprised we had to discuss was whether or not our project was touching on gender bias. Our explicit goals based on the seeding paper and the client&#8217;s wants are to look directly at racial bias and <u>not<\/u>\u00a0gender bias or bias as a whole. After talking with our client, we received more clarity about what our project is intended to do, which is: be more effective than a control group at helping 8th graders identify racial bias and create\/maintain strategies for overcoming racial bias. Both the control and our experimental group will be attending a racial bias workshop and our game should aid in the transformation, not be the sole source of it.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-45151f4 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"45151f4\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-2aa6dcd\" data-id=\"2aa6dcd\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0855acc elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"0855acc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Conclusions<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-a1b2cb3 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"a1b2cb3\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-2be18f9\" data-id=\"2be18f9\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e3975cd elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e3975cd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Overall, we found 1\/4s to be a mixed bag. Getting the feedback was overall beneficial, but we don&#8217;t necessarily feel the feedback gave us clarity for our specific audience and the faculty seemed fixated on aspects that will likely exist outside of our project.
