Our Project<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Team StoryStudio is creating a tool to facilitate interactive storytelling at the Children\u2019s Museum of Pittsburgh (CMP) in MuseumLab, a space which features exhibits and workshops for youth and teens. Our team of six designers, artists, and engineers will investigate what it means to become truly immersed in a story and examine how to enhance the experience using mixed-reality interactives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our goal is to develop a \u201cbeta-level\u201d tool and interface that can be used by high-school students and adults to generate meaningfully interactive storytelling events for children. At the end of the semester, we will pass our prototype on to the museum along with a set of demonstrative stories exhibiting the tool\u2019s features and limitations. Ultimately, we hope it will support CMP\u2019s initiative to blend digital and analog interfaces in novel and entertaining ways, and specifically spark further interest and support for interactive storytelling events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Children\u2019s Museum of Pittsburgh (CMP) is currently engaged in a museum-wide initiative to support community engagement in kindness as a learning process<\/em>. As the next step in this initiative, CMP is transforming its existing Attic exhibit into a new 1,200 sq. ft. gallery dedicated to exploring the concept of kindness. Together with the Design Department and the Learning & Research Department, we will develop an experience for this space using the \u201creal stuff\u201d of today\u2019s play.
