Artists
For the past two weeks, the two Artists, Hagan and Ray, worked alongside the UI/UX Designers, to create concepts for the logo. Once a design was settled upon, Ray worked to finalize the logo design to work with multiple backgrounds. Hagan spent a similar timespan working to create a couple of initial concepts for the half-sheet as well. Ray worked on polishing some of these designs. Furthermore, the two artists did research, both of them on Snob Bog’s past style and scenes, but also some basic research on Motion Capture data and it’s implementation. Hagan also did some research on animation retargeting as well as beginning to go through this pipeline. Ray also did some 3D modeling practice to continue to hone her skills.
Programmers
The past two weeks our programmers, Cleo and Robin, got the Unity bundle and a lot of materials through the clients. From this they sifted through the current code and project to gain a fundamental understanding of the layout of the current project. Outside of this, they also did some additional research, such as learning the process of building on iOS and Android platforms and researching the original plugins, packages, and ML framework that may need updating in the future to ensure a more optimized build. The final main component that they figured was the likely scope of the project when considering the timeline and the technology needed to learn.
UI/UX Designers
During the beginning of the past two weeks, the UI/UX Designers, Peter and Tiange, worked with the artists to create concepts for the logo. After the design was chosen, Peter reached out to Shirley Yee for feedback on the design and submitted the final edits. Together, the UI/UX Designers summarized characteristics of successful AR applications to use as a reference when making design decisions going further. Tiange spent time doing research on AR games currently available, outdoor games, and created questions and goals for the scope of the project. Peter did research on mobile AR user profiles, and summarized the advantages and disadvantages of AR.
