Artists

Since last week the two artists have been working on the pipeline for using Motion Capture Data for the Mix and Match character sets. The entire team also visited the Motion Capture Studio to get a demonstration of how to prepare the motions once we have a concrete character and storyline idea. During the last weekend, Hagan did familiarize himself with the basic pipeline for animation retargeting and is now transitioning to understanding that process with motion capture data. Below are some of the images as well as the gestures that we decided to capture for the demo at the Motion Capture Studio on main campus.

Ray also dedicated time to finding references for the art style and the possibilities that those could present in time for 1/4’s presentations. Below are some of the references used for the art style.

Programmers

This week the programmers took a deeper dive into the current Snob Bog project to further understanding the code and the setup of the project. The programmers got access to the Mac, Android tablet and Android phone this week allowing them to make an Android build of the Snob Bog project. They also did research on the Unity inference interface of the neural network model combination. Finally they worked on the build of AR and Machine Learning gold spike in Unity.

UI/UX Designers

The UI Designers researched the user groups and their needs and wants about AR. When doing this, they created their first draft of their personas. This comes down to four conclusions to be gained from the diverse age group that the UI designers came up with, the entertainment aspect, the fantastic world they help to create, interesting storylines to be explored, and a simpler and easy to use interface. The UI designers also wanted to analyze user’s feelings and design opportunities that come from this. They also created the first draft of the user journey of the app.
