UX/UI designer

Jingyuan is a UX designer focusing on emerging technologies and immersive experiences. From creative problem-solving to quick prototyping for VR/AR products, she is passionate about creating delightful experiences in collaboration with engineers and artists. Jingyuan also has a background in human-centered design and service design. She applies design thinking methods in various fields, including transformational game design, website design, app design, and AR/VR application design. Besides being a designer, she is also a 3D artist, who produces art assets in the game development pipeline.

Shan Jiang

Shan Jiang

Producer

Shan Jiang is a creative, multi-disciplinary, and multi-lingual producer and programmer passionate about the entertainment industry. After completing internships at Unity Technologies and Psychic VR Lab (Japan), she is a current Master of Entertainment Technology student at Carnegie Mellon University. Since her undergrad at Mount Holyoke College (the first women’s college in the U.S.), Shan has been studying Computer Science and created a special major in Interactive Media to pursue her passion in entertainment. Over 30 projects have come to life while working independently or in teams over the past few years, including casual mobile games, iOS, Android, and HoloLens (AR) apps, VR documentaries and Oculus VR games, animations, interactive films, and location-based installations, etc. As a member of IGDA and attendee at GDC, GHC, and game jams, Shan keeps leveling up her skills outside school and remains an active member of the community.

Yutian (Ray) Xie

Yutian (Ray) Xie

3D Artist & Graphic Designer

Ray is currently earning a masters degree at the ETC CMU, focusing on 3D Arts. After 6 years of experience in the graphic design industry she is pivoting to her passion: AR/VR field. She is adept at creating 2D designs, digital arts and animations in a variety of styles and she’s quickly learning 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation. She loves to challenge herself and learn new skills in a diverse, collaborative work environment.

Zongze (Damian) Xie

Zongze (Damian) Xie

Narrative & UX Designer

Damian(Zongze) is a professional narrative designer and technical designer focusing on game design and storytelling. He has several years of work experience in the game industry, he used to be a full-time narrative designer in YOOZOO Games for a year and finished internships (as a technical narrative designer) at Respawn Entertainment (EA) recently. Besides, Damian also has a background in digital media art (including Concept art, Illustration, 3D design, Animation and Cinematic Arts) because he has been studying in the field for four years during undergraduate years. Those cross-field experiences helps Damian keep increasing his design ability and skills and he always opens to learn new things in the entertainment industry.

Bokang Wang

Bokang Wang

Programmer

Bokang is a passionate game programmer and designer. Currently, he is focusing on game development, AR/VR, and interactive design. His recent projects include a research project with Google exploring how to make Machine Learning engaging and accessible, and an educational VR game focusing on Shakespeare plays. He hopes his games can provide players with a strong emotional experience and inspire them.

Ralph Vituccio

Ralph Vituccio

Professor of Media at CMU

Ralph Thomas Vituccio is a filmmaker and Professor of Media at Carnegie Mellon University. His documentary, “IN SERVICE: Iraq to Pittsburgh”, explored a different facet of the Iraq War as seen through the eyes of local soldiers. The film, “Ship Breakers”, explored the devastating impact ship recycling has had on the environmental and the health of the workers in Gujarat, India. His most recent film, Haenyeo, documents the women free divers of Marado, South Korea. Ralph has also produced and/or created several interactive VR and interactive documentary programs. His recent work in Virtual Reality and interactive documentary have won a 2018 Google-Tribeca grant as well as showing in numerous film festivals. He has spoken at numerous conferences including SXSW, SIGGRAPH, GDC, i-Docs, Games For Change, etc.

Moshe Mahler

Moshe Mahler

Assistant Teaching Professor at CMU ETC

Moshe Mahler is an award-winning professional innovator and storyteller whose work has been featured in attractions at Disney Parks and Resorts and shown worldwide at prestigious venues including SIGGRAPH, UIST, Comic Con, and Ars Electronica. For nearly a decade, Mahler led The Creative Technology Team at Disney Research of The Walt Disney Company, where he served as the Principal Artist. Under his supervision, the team worked hand in hand with elite Research Scientists to invent and utilize new technologies across the Walt Disney Company, collaborating with Pixar, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Disney Consumer Products, Disney Television Animation, Imagineering, and more. Mahler has authored more than 10 technical paper publications at premiere conferences and is an inventor of four issued patents. Moshe currently holds a Faculty position at The Entertainment Technology Center of Carnegie Mellon University and is a Principal and Owner of BIG eMotion Technologies.
