Summary:
The fall semester was right around the corner and with last project’s slow start, we would like to speed things up a bit. After a few emails before the semester started, we arranged our client meeting on the first day of school to kick off the process.
Knowing that we would be working with La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club, Shan and Yutian visited the theatre in New York City in the summer and showed up to the ongoing shows, “CANNABIS! A VIPER VAUDEVILLE” and “Once upon a (Korean) time” in the summer.
Client Meeting:
We would be working with Ralph(client), Mo, and Jaeheetogether throughout the semester and communicating with staff, Mia (client) and Billy, from La MaMa and CultureHub for their inputs and feedback. To better understand the setting of La MaMa Archive, our team will be traveling to New York City a few times during the semester. Our first travel plan is during Week 4 after the initial planning and research phase.
Production:
Shared Google Drive and multiple communication platforms (including Slack and WeChat) have been set up before the semester began. To keep all the production tools in one place, the task management platform will be Google Sheets with integration with Slack bot for immediate task notification when new tasks are created. Most of the tasks during the first week focused on the production area to set up the project room, core hours, and websites to ensure a smooth start of the project.
Design:
We started to research AR capabilities and the existing applications and shared our findings in a shared document. Some initial findings of relevant exhibits are listed below.
