Jack Peng

Game Designer, Level Designer, Producer

Jack Peng is a dedicated game designer and level designer with a passion for creating innovative game mechanics and levels. After graduating with a B.S. in Interactive Media Arts from NYU Shanghai, Jack began pursuing a Master of Entertainment Technology from Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center. Driven by the passion for expanding the possibilities of games, he hopes to create games that challenge conventions, evoke emotions, and leave a lasting impact on players.

James Huang

Technical Designer, Programmer

James Huang is a technical designer who loves creating unique experiences that surprise and delight players. With a background in electrical engineering, he explores innovative mechanics and interactions that push the boundaries of gameplay. His experience with VR development and passion for board games influence his approach to designing immersive and engaging experiences.

Jing Chung

Game Developer, Programmer, Producer

Jing Chung is a game developer and VR enthusiast with a background in Computer Science, focused on creating immersive experiences. With seven years of experience, ranging from research projects like a VR basketball training system to indie game development showcased in Korea and Taipei in 2019, Jing continuously explores innovative ways to engage players through technology. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Entertainment Technology at Carnegie Mellon University, she aims to push the boundaries of VR and create new ways for users to connect with technology.

Alex Hall

Interactive Media Designer, 3D Artist

Alex Hall is an Interactive Media Designer with a strong background in Advanced Media Production and Virtual Reality Research. Over the course of her career, she has contributed to a diverse range of projects, including XR education apps, VR cinematics, smart shopping cart systems, and VR architecture simulations. Beyond her professional work, she has a deep passion for designing tabletop roleplaying games and trading card games. In her free time, she enjoys crafting costumes, tinkering with 3D printers, and both creating and playing games. Driven by a desire to push the boundaries of interactive media, Alex chose to further her education by pursuing a Master’s degree in Entertainment Technology. At the Entertainment Technology Center, she aims to research and develop innovative systems that enhance immersion in interactive experiences.

Lawrence Luo

3D Generalist

Lawrence Luo is a 3D Generalist who specialized in environment art, texture and props, and taking the role of artist in projects who conducts diverse 3D contents at entertainment technology center. Art serves as a way of expression for him, and game art emerges as a great platform for fulfilling true human desires. He believes that making immersive, captivating, and purposeful game and film art stands at the top of the entertainment art industry. During the last few years of school and career, he has internship experience as a VR 3D artist, 3D Generalist, and teaching assistant for 3D art classes.

Dave Culyba

Advising Faculty

Dave received a B.S. in Computer Science and a Master’s in Entertainment Technology from Carnegie Mellon University. He has since worked at Electronic Arts as part of the team that created the computer game Spore, was a co-founder of the startup Interbots which worked on combining robotics and apps to create both entertainment and therapeutic experiences for kids, and is also one of the core members of the Alice research team working to create software to help teach students how to program. He is an active participant in game jams and was the co-organizer of the “Now I Get It!” jam.
