Derek Ham
Derek Ham is the Director of Carnegie Mellon Universityโs Entertainment Technology Center, where he leads innovative research and collaborative projects at the intersection of technology, design and storytelling. With a deep commitment to fostering creativity and advancing the future of interactive entertainment, Derek brings a wealth of experience as a designer, teacher and leader in the fields of virtual reality, augmented reality and immersive media.

Thomas Corbett
Tom Corbett is an instructor at Carnegie Mellon Universityโs Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) and a faculty member for the universityโs Integrative Design, Arts, and Technology (IDeATe) Network, a cross-disciplinary program for undergraduate students. Tom teaches courses in game development, virtual and augmented reality, and immersive and spatial technology platforms, blending technical expertise with creative exploration.

Aiden Xu
Aiden(Mingrui) earned his undergraduate degree in game design from the University of Utah. He enjoys design games and writing stories, trying to express them in different ways. Heโs also interested in gameplay& level design and technical art, trying to mix game and story together to make player enjoy both at the same time. At the ETC, Mingrui wants to be a gameplay designer. He also interested in and willing to deal with some art and programming problem, he wants to gain as much experience as possible. He hopes to create some new stories with different kinds of people, in a neoteric, creative way.

Andy Pang
Andy Pang earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science with a minor in Game Design from Cornell University. At Cornell, he participated in game jams, built game-oriented coursework projects, and led a team in developing a VR horror game, experiences that solidified their passion for game development. Fascinated by the harmony between interactive storytelling and gameplay mechanics, he draws inspiration from narrative-rich titles like The Last of Us. At the ETC, Andy Pang hopes to grow as a gameplay programmer while also exploring storytelling, narrative design, and the artistic dimensions of game creation. Outside of development, he enjoys diving into books and films to study the many ways stories can be told.

Eve Ren
Eve is a digital artist with a focus on 3D modeling and animation. She graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design with a BFA in Computer Animation, where her senior thesis film combined 2D and 3D animation and was recognized at several international festivals. Before joining the ETC, Eve worked as a Digital Modeler at Outward, Inc., creating 3D furniture assets for brands like Pottery Barn and West Elm. At the ETC, she hopes to expand her skills in interactive media and collaborative production, with the long-term goal of creating immersive stories that bridge technology and art.

Jerry Zhang
Jerryโs main interest is game programming, especially gameplay and client-side development. He enjoys turning ideas into interactive systems that players can directly experience. In his projects, Jerry has built multiplayer gameplay prototypes, interaction systems, dialogue systems, environmental effects, and UI features using Unity and Unreal Engine. In Grey Waves, he worked on player interaction, dialogue logic, and dynamic earthquake effects to support a narrative-driven experience. He has also gained production experience through internships at Perfect World and Lingfeng Interactive Entertainment, where he worked on 3D asset annotation for a deep-learning pipeline and Unity features for a live game, including activity systems, reward logic, and UI functionality. Beyond programming, Jerry has a strong interest in film and visual storytelling, especially works that blur reality and fantasy, and hopes to bring that sensibility into the games he creates.

Oulan Li
Oulan studied Cognitive Science at UC San Diego, where she focused on design and humanโcomputer interaction. Through her academic and creative projects, she explored how interactive systems can shape experiences and connect people. Looking forward, she is especially interested in pursuing technical art and game development, combining artistic vision with technical skills to build immersive worlds. She is also passionate about production, where she enjoys coordinating creative teams and bringing ideas to life. At the ETC, she hopes to grow as both a technical artist and producer, designing innovative games and experiences that are emotional, and memorable.

Tony Liu
Tony Liu is a producer and experience designer currently pursuing his masterโs degree at Carnegie Mellon Universityโs Entertainment Technology Center. He graduated from UC San Diego with degrees in Communication and Cognitive Science, specializing in Design and Interaction. With experience across UX design, product development, and game production, Tony is interested in bringing together user needs, creative vision, and technical execution to build meaningful interactive experiences. At the ETC, he is exploring production as a way to bridge interdisciplinary teams and turn emerging technologies into engaging, human-centered experiences. Outside of work, Tony enjoys street photography, cooking, and traditional East Asian art.
