Week 12

Here are the results of last weekend’s playtest:

Interesting Results….

1. Spline was the most immediately successful interaction across all groups.

2. Non-technical participants were still excited by the act of “building” in Unreal.

3. Participants were more willing to play games created by themselves

  • They have strong sense of ownership

4. Unreal developers consistently asked for more control.

5. Almost everyone want to generate crazy levels.

6. Almost all participants feels the gameplay and level fun to play

Feedbacks

  1. Parameters not noticeable
  2. Need clearer navigation cues, players get lost
  3. Zipline will slow down player momentum which is not satisfying 
  4. Need a crosshair in the middle of the screen for Attack
  5. Open more parameters to control

Bug Fixing

Gameplay Bugs:

  • Locomotion Bugs (Sliding bug, Multiple Air Dash bug…)
  • Enemy Bugs

PCG bugs

  • Stress Tests on our generation system
  • Refine generation rules
  • Unreachable parkour elements at corners
