It explains the math behind what makes Gaussian Splatting truly evolutionary, like how the mathematical formula “spherical harmonics” allows each splat to store a single base color, but can change color based on the viewing angle. The video ends with discussing various potential real-life applications for Gaussian Splatting, especially 4DGS. There’s lots of hopes for this technique to become mainstream because the file size is actually small enough for your phone or VR headset to handle.
