EchoTrio is originally a project named “Ask the Andys”, that advances the Entertainment Technology Center’s synthetic interview studio platform by bringing together hologram and Natural Language Processing (Ai) technologies. Together they form the foundation for a completely unique, interactive experience.
The ETC exists at the intersection of science and creativity; technology and art. From there a narrative emerges that brings together two iconic Carnegie Mellon University characters – Andrew Carnegie and Andy Warhol. As the voices of both technology and art, the two Andys can engage in a conversation with each other and with the audience creating a one-of-a-kind, interactive experience.
After careful research and discussion, the goal has shifted to
- Push the technical boundaries of using LLMs to create not just a two-way, but a three-way conversation.
- Explore how to build an entertaining experience around this technology, rather than relying on the tech alone.
- Document the challenges, iterations, and discoveries we encounter along the way, and pass them on to the next ETC team.
Since this is a faculty-pitched project, EchoTrio currently does not have clients, as the team reports to their instructors, Moshe and Shirley.
