Week 14 – Festival!

With Festival and finals approaching, Week 14 became one of the most intense weeks of the semester. Our work focused on two major tracks: finalizing the experience and finishing the full documentation package.

1. Experience Polishing & Final Integration

After Soft Opening, we shifted from exploration to refinement. This week, we:

  • Integrated final animation presets, ensuring that both gods had consistent idle behaviors and expressive reactions.
  • Resolved remaining latency-related bugs, especially in early rounds.

By the end of the week, the full 6-minute demo could be run reliably from start to finish.

2. Documentation Completion

This week was also dedicated to turning our exploratory work into materials the next team can build on.

We completed and organized all major documents:

  • Technical Rationale: finalized explanation of model choices (GPT-5 + ElevenLabs), latency trade-offs, and alternatives we tested.
  • Experience Design Document: finalized the discussion types, experience structure, and design insights from playtests.
  • Animation System Document: completed the text-to-animation pipeline and detailed required animation layers.
  • User Guide: polished instructions for running and modifying the project.

This is the first time the entire documentation suite existed in final form.

3. Presentation Preparation

As the final presentation approaches, we:

  • Reorganized slides using instructor feedback (“talk less, show more”).
  • Extracted and visualized key insights from playtests.
  • Built a stable presentation-version demo scene to avoid last-minute breaks.
  • Practiced narrative flow: technical → design → experience → documentation.

The team also aligned on roles and speaking order for the final show.
