Week 7 Half! – March 1st, 2024

Right after the halves presentation, Team Flow reached out to the mocap lab and scheduled the next & major motion capture.

We came back to production mode with specific tasks planned out right after ½ presentation.

Demo

We received some helpful playtest feedback from a group of 8 high school students:

  • We have guests who were dancing throughout the entire experience demo! 💃🕺
  • The interaction did not felt strong enough that they feel like they could change/ affect the world
  • Intuitive interaction: have the dancer doing the exact same movement, leading the guests
    • Need feedback (sound & visual) for doing the correct movement

Camera Movement Test

We tested the camera movements (zoom in, pan, track, dolly) for scene 4 (cutscene) in Cavern. The team has made the decision to create several keyframes to tell the story, instead of moving around in the scene which has a great chance of causing motion sickness.

Plan for Next Week 

  • Production timeline for the other half
  • Scene 1-3 polish
    • Waterfall 
    • Create a spirit VFX (particle effect/ sparking, floating)
    • Dancer VFX: when it is lit up, the guests can interact
  • Start scene 6 celebration, parallel scene 5
    • Assets (Mountain, Temple, etc.)
    • Flower petals VFX
  • Mocap 2.0 & choreography 
  • Sound (sc 1-3)
    • Different music between interactive / not interactive 
    • SFX for dancer/ interaction feedback
