Meet the Team!

Max Cameron

Producer, Sound Designer, UI

Max is a Pittsburgh-based producer, artist and sound designer. Previous to coming to the ETC he worked in numerous fields including facilities management and custom cabinetry. He is currently finishing up his degree at CMU while working at Deeplocal as a Production Assistant for his co-op. He hopes to grow as a producer and to find ways to bring what he learned in his previous work to developing interactive experiences. Post-Graduation he plans to move into production to help creative teams achieve their best work.

Faris Elrayes

Programmer, Game Designer

Faris Elrayes is a programmer, technical artist and game designer interested in projects which tell compelling and transformational stories utilizing emerging technologies.

Having attained his bachelor’s degree in Computing and Software Systems from the University of Melbourne, as well as an informal education from an abundance of technical art tutorials on the internet, Faris has worked on a variety of game projects available on his website.

In his free time, Faris enjoys playing games, learning new skills and stressing out about climate change.

Yukti Gupte

Character Artist, Art Lead

Yukti is a rigging technical artist who enjoys working on character art and design. She enjoys exploring moving stories and narratives in games through compelling movement. Yukti has a deep interest in character animation and wants to delve into technical animation as not only an art but also master the science and math of motion. Yukti has worked on both film and game projects as a rigging artist. She is currently pursuing a Master of Entertainment Technology at Carnegie Mellon University and aspires to work in AAA game development as a character technical director.

Amber Griffith (They, Them)

Writer, Designer, Artist

Amber Marie Griffith is an artist, designer, and developer from Pittsburgh, PA. A creator from a young age, Amber considers themself to be a jack of all trades, with years of experience in diverse fields such as illustration, animation, design, programming, and writing. Currently, they are studying for a Master’s of Entertainment Technology (Class of 2023) at Carnegie Mellon University. As an undergraduate, they studied Computer Science with a minor in Game Design, also at Carnegie Mellon. Amber looks forward to building up their portfolio with more creative work and one day build a career where they can apply all the various skills they’ve gathered along the way.

Yi-Hsiu Huang (Danny)

Environment Artist

Yi-Hsiu Huang (Danny) is an artist who specializes in 3D environments, lighting, and architectural design. As a current Entertainment Technology grad student at Carnegie Mellon University with a background in architecture, he can explore the spatial design of virtual spaces based on his architectural and environment knowledge, transforming them into immersive and interactive experiences. He hopes to use his education and talents as an environment and lighting artist when he finishes his program in May 2023.

Hagan Miller

Environment Artist

Hagan is an alumni from CMU’s undergraduate program. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts in Architecture as well as two Minors in Game Design and Physical Computing. He is attending the ETC to further hone his skills in 3D Modeling, the video game pipeline, and Animation. He plans to be a 3D Environment Artist post-graduation.

Faculty Instructors

Named in 2013 as one of the five most powerful women in gaming by Inc. magazine, and in 2011 by Fast Company as one of the most influential women in technology, Ms. Kelley co-curated the groundbreaking 2012 exhibition Joue le jeu / Play Along at La Gaîté lyrique in Paris, France. She is co-founder of Kokoromi, an experimental game collective, with whom she has produced and curated the renowned GAMMA event promoting experimental games as creative expression in a social context.

Jonathan is an award-winning indie game designer, a former China policy analyst, and a teacher and scholar focused on critical analysis of science, technology, and media. A native of North Carolina and Virginia, Jonathan studied Chinese language at the School Year Abroad (SYA) and Associated Colleges in China (ACC) programs in Beijing, as an East Asian Studies major at Oberlin College, and as a Fulbright Fellow at Nanjing University.
