Playtest Day Results
We got lots of testers on Saturday. The feedback we got was overall very positive. Lots of people said that the experience felt very unique.
Art
We’ve had lots of feedback on the visuals. Rei is working very hard to get the graphics looking the best they can within the time limit. We have tested several ways to animate the main tree model to make it seem visually interesting and not scary or uncanny.
Sound
Since we didn’t get much useful feedback or comment on the sounds, we decided to pause the refinement of the sound and keep using this version until something needs to be changed.
UI
Cora is taking over the UI design in order to help Rei focus on the visuals. She is trying out various styles to best fit our experience. We are planning on putting important instructions on the screen as well as mentioning them in the script.
Script
After speaking with several faculty, we have several notes that we are trying to implement into the script. We are trying to add more empathy to the narrator’s responses to the questions. We are also adding a skip option for individual questions, so the guests don’t feel obligated to answer questions they don’t feel comfortable with. We need to add dialogue for people who choose the skip options. We are also making minor fixes in the language so it flows better.
Tech
Client Feedback
Our client is very happy with our experience so far. He is excited to see the finalized version of the product and to see how the content moderation application will work.
Faculty Feedback
We invited faculty members to experience our project in its current state. We got lots of feedback, most of it was about the script and the visuals. Some notable feedback we got talked about adding pauses in between lines, and making the character more empathetic to the guest.
