First week after spring break, prototyping week.
Meet with Cloud Breaker Devs

In the beginning of the week, we met with Schell Games’ Cloud Breaker Dev team. We asked about their dev and playtesting journey. Below is our learnings from them.
Game Consideration
- Low entry point for VR in car.
- Don’t make people sick.
Motion sickness
- Prototyping on desk vs. actually used in a car.
- Audience will evolve and being more adaptive.
Outside Environment
- What kind of road, outside lighting can make the experience very different.
What problems would be solved by 2040:
- Headset can be talking (connected) to the car computing hub and solving most technical problems
Development Progress

The team started parallelly developing the project.
- We have received car interior data from Honda, and we have converted in to USDZ.
- Bison placed in the scene and a Hi-fi Bison coming up.
- Simple taping prototype for the Old Faithful Geyser.
- Liquid shader for Morning Glory Pool.
So far, we are simulating MR in VR, Next steps would be adding an outside environments in some point of the journey to simulate the driving experience.
Next thing to consider is how to setup playtesting in this environment demonstrating we are in a moving vehicle without motion sickness.
Client Meeting
We updated with our client on our prototyping progress and our takeaways from meeting with Schell. Our client reminds us on keep in mind that we still need to implement some kind of narrative.
Ryan and Rajeev Visit
Client representatives from Honda 99P and Honda Motors came to visit CMU on Friday.
We showed them our current prototypes to them, and they were impressed and excited by the future of Mixed Reality.
