3/4 – 3/8 – Spring Break
Hardware and Illusions
Over Spring Break, Angie worked on ways to improve the depth illusion of the window. She took different measurements with the fresnel lens and found the distances from the screen that it worked best on. When the lens was roughly seven inches away from the screen, the guest would be able to stand more than a foot away and still see the visuals clearly. These tests helped prove the relationship of viewer, lens, and screen, and that the effects of the lens being away from the screen and the viewer up close is equivalent to the lens being close to the screen and the viewer being far away. With these results, Angie also combined the lens from the CRT to find that it helped blur the pixels a bit, giving a more realistic look to the lens. It worked very well and Angie is excited to get the large fresnel lens in the mail!
Since it was spring break, we didn’t have other more updates. During the trip in the airport, Annie and Yawen noticed a super cool product which has a layer of window out the TV so people can see the reflection on the window and lower the lightness of the TV. They shared with Angie about the cool product to see how the idea could be applied our product.
