Installation
This week, Cassie decorated the walls with vinyls that Kira brought from home. We used these to make the space relate more to music and give a cool feeling. Angie repainted the interior of the window sill to make the new window frame match with the rest of the installation. With the wall completed, Angie researched how to get raindrops on the window. She ordered an aquarium pump and some tubing so that she could run water on the sheet of acrylic between the fresnel lens and the guest. Anthony also brought his stuffed animals so the bed was full of cute creatures for guests to hold.
Programming
This week, Annie used json files from Spotify Web API to manipulate the scene sequences and the appearance of hero assets. She discussed with Yawen about the design of what attributes in music determine those things. They decided to use loudness. Annie downloaded the section information from the API, divided them into three groups and got the average loudness. Highest loudness part in the song calls out the city scene, lowest calls out the lake scene. Hero assets appear at the biggest loudness change between sections. She used an empty new scene to control over those parameterizations.
Art
This week, Yawen worked on the improvement of the transition animation. Based on the previous playtests and the feedback got from the participants, Yawen added lights, the texture of the tunnel wall, and the speed lines to the tunnel to make it more like traveling through the tunnel but also kept the feeling of abstraction.
Kira worked on a new scene of the lake and gave it to Annie for the peaceful moments in the song.
UI/UX
Cassie finalized the App interface and adjusted the name from “Window Box” to “Blue View”. The screen for selecting scenes after the experience was also added to finalize the end-to-end experience.
Trailer
Anna came up with the first draft of trailer shot lists and storyboard, had a separate meeting with Mo about it, and finalized them. Anna scheduled the meeting with Zen, one of the influencers we interviewed, and held playtesting with her. Also, she scheduled shooting plans with Regina.
