2/26 – 3/1
This week was Halves! We spent most of our week preparing for our presentation on Wednesday and getting ready to leave for Spring Break.
Halves
We finalized the storytelling of the presentation and did several rehearsals. We made a user-flow chart to make the experience more transparent and easier to understand. We gather the responses from the playtest last week and put them into a comprehensive chart in our Halves presentation so that the faculty can better understand our data.
Hardware and Illusions
Not much changed this week, besides getting some video for the Halves presentation. Angie set up the playtesting environment with the bed for the playtesting on Monday with a group of middle schoolers. The girls seemed very excited about the direction the project was going which helped reinforce that the team was going the right way. The playtesters were able to understand the content and gave interesting feedback on what elements stood out to them and what they enjoyed about the experience. We found that the experience is generally clear for younger audiences and they did not get sick. We will continue to test once the larger fresnel lens comes in the mail!
Art
Not much updates from last week but we all gathered references that we felt tell and show the sad emotion. We showed the images to our client and we all agree that Cassie’s photos could fully bring up the sadness. So we decided the photos to be our beacon for the art theme.
Direction
Need to explore more on the programming, hardware, and content part. But we feel we are on the right track.
Conclusion
The half presentation went well. The real presentation was our best performance among all the practices these days. We are gonna decide on our more detailed plans and move to the real production phase.
