This week we have been preparing a 15-second demo to showcase a slice of what our whole project will (hopefully) be. When meeting with Mo last week, he recommended starting with the hardest thing first. Based on that advice, we chose a sequence that involves several moving parts and surreal visual effects. The storyboard panels below reflect the general concept for this slice.
Sheenu has been working on weight painting the character model so it is ready to be imported into Unreal Engine.
Rick continues to work on visual effects that will be utilized in the whole piece.
Joy and Sandra have been working on a limbo and chess board environment, such as what is shown in the storyboard.
Tuesday worked on the 1/2 presentation deck and met with Chris Klug. During their meeting, Chris answered a question he had asked the team during 1/4’s: how to measure success in storytelling? He recommended the team hold screenings and ask questions regarding character motivation, plot points, etc. and seeing if they matched our own answers.
