Hello!
The team has begun pre-production and is preparing for 1/4 walkarounds, where project teams update faculty on their progress and receive feedback to aid with the plan for the next steps.
Despite our first two weeks being remote, the team has had frequent communication to brainstorm, set team goals, and plan. We’ve had two meetings with our faculty advisors: Ralph Vituccio and Scott Stevens, who gave helpful feedback and proposed solutions to some of the team’s concerns.
Our artists, Sandra and Joy, have been working on the creation of character and environmental art assets. The artists have also worked on the logo for our team!
Sheenu, our animator and rigger, has been doing research and testing for the motion-capture suit. His testing will be pivotal in determining what is possible for our character.
Rick, our solo programmer, has been familiarizing himself with Unreal Engine, the game engine we will be using to fully render our music video. Rick’s background is in Unity, so while there are similarities, Unreal Engine has features that cater more towards Film.
Tuesday has been storyboarding and recording timecodes in the song. While the storyboard is subject to change further on in the process, it will help shape the production of art assets.
Below is our jam board which was created as part of a workshop given by two faculty members: Mike Christel and John Dessler on playtesting. This exercise was helpful in coming together as a team to help brainstorm as well as receive feedback from other project teams!
Until next week!
