At the ETC, students participate in applied research project courses for their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th semesters. Each project consist of interdisciplinary student teams that work to create functional artifacts and playable prototypes. Typically, a project lasts an entire semester and involves a student team, a faculty supervisor, and a client representative.
This is a repeating project that other ETC student’s worked on in the Spring ’24 semester. QuestMakers showcased their talents by creating a unique level consisting of combat and magical player abilities. Our project will take inspiration from QuestMakers and reference their project’s scope.
Our team was tasked by the SME, Ketul Majmudar to create a single fully functional level of a Third Person Action Adventure Game. The player must complete a quest, defeat enemies, avoid obstacles and be introduced to a new game mechanic(s). We are also working with a pre-existing intellectual property; Rifts RPG.
Rifts is a post-apocalyptic table top role playing game. The universe contains themes of sciene fiction, horror, mythology, western, fantasy, etc. It was created by Kevein Siembieda and published by Palladium Book in the 1990s.
